Christian Mcbride on jazz, life, and how the two give back.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Christian McBride's father and uncle were prominent bassists in the local jazz scene, and served as powerful musical influences in his life.

McBride went on to study at Julliard in New York City. He started playing bass professionally at 17, when he joined saxophonist Bobby Watson's group.

To date, he is one of the most recorded musicians of his generation, and a 5-time Grammy award winner. In addition to this, he is a firm believer in charity and the investment in education for youth.
